 Club Notes

23rd April 2023

Social Night Out
Come along to the Leitrim Inn on Saturday 29th April for a Club night out, meet for a chat, some music and good company.

TANSEY CUP
Well done to our adult men, sponsored by Joe Simon Home, Garden & Hardware, who amassed a nice tally of 1-20 in wet and greasy conditions in Kilteevan on Saturday evening on their way to recording a fourth league win from four outings this season. There is no time to rest as Kilglass Gaels are the visitors to Ardcarne Park on Bank Holiday Monday, 1st May, with throw-in at 2pm.

UNDERAGE BOYS
Well done to our underage teams who all recorded positive results this week.
Our under 16 Division 1 boys entertained last year's championship winning Roscommon Gaels side in Ballyfarnon on Monday last. Both teams served up an enthralling sporting contest played in an excellent spirit. The sides couldn't be separated in the first period and were level 1-7 each at the interval. The home team were quick out of the blocks after the break and were 5pts ahead within ten minutes. However the visitors dominated the next ten minutes to reduce their deficit to a single point. The game ebbed and flowed from then to the end and a loud cheer greeted the final score. St Michael's-St Ronan's 2-13 Roscommon Gaels 1-15.
On Tuesday the under 14 boys welcomed Oran to Ardcarne Park. Our lads appetite for goals proved decisive as they won by 6-4 to 3-8.
The minor boys travelled to Tulsk on Wednesday to take on the home side. Tulsk impressed in the first half but 2 goals kept the visitors in the hunt at half time. Our lads were much more productive in the second period and we led by one point when play concluded. Final score: Tulsk 1-9 St Michael's-St Ronan's 3-4. We wish Tommy Lennon a speedy recovery from injury sustained in the game.
The u16 Division 4 team hosted Oran-St Croan's on Friday evening. The sides were level, 2-5 each at the break. Two goals early in the second half put the visitors in a strong position but a resolute performance by the hosts secured the points after an exciting finish. Full time: St Michael's-St Ronan's 5-10 Oran-St Croan's 4-8.
This week, the u16 Boys have a Division 1 game on Monday against Padraig Pearses in Woodmount, and a Division 4 game on Friday against Roscommon Gaels in Lisnamult, both due to throw-in at 7.30pm. Meanwhile the u14 boys visit Enfield on Tuesday to play St Croan's at 7.30pm and our u18 Boys play St Faithleach's in Ardcarne Park on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Best of luck to all our teams.
