Underage
Congratulations to the St Michaels/St Ronans under 13 boys
who won their Division Two Championship Semi-final against Shannon Gaels by
2-11 to 1-9 on Monday evening last. They have now qualified for the final
against Kilglass Gaels/St Barry's which is another tremendous achievement by
this group of players and coaches and we wish them the very best of luck in
that.
Commiserations to the St Michaels/St Ronans
injury-hit under 15 panel who lost out to St Aidan's in their Division Two
Championship Semi-final on Sunday. In a game which was a lot more competitive
than the final scoreline suggests, the visitors' greater accuracy was
significant and we wish them well in the final. A third appearance in a county
final in 2021 wasn't to be for this group of lads and their management team on
this occasion, but they still have the Garda Cup to look forward to!
The St Michaels/St Ronans under 17 boys secured
their place in the Division Three Championship Semi-finals on Wednesday when
they emerged victorious after an exciting contest with a strong Kilglass
Gaels/St Barry's side on a 4-8 to 1-11 scoreline
Under 11
The combined under 11 boys
team played two very enjoyable and competitive games against Elphin/Ballinameen
on Sunday morning. Thank you to Ballinameen for hosting.
LGFA
The Saints Junior girls had their first convincing win on Sunday last over Western Gaels, they play Shannon Gaels next week in round 4.
The under 14 girls play Northern Harps in Cootehall on Thursday next in the Northern League final
The under 12 girls played Geevagh away last Thursday.
Congratulations to Stephen and Edel on the birth of their new daughter Ayla.
Junior B Championship:
After a gap of a number of years, it was great to see St Michael's field a 2nd team in the Junior B championship in Kiltoom on Friday night. St Brigid's took the spoils after an evenly-contested game, coming out on the right side of a 2-12 to 10pts scoreline. It was a very encouraging performance from our lads and we look forward to the next game in 2 weeks' time.
