18th July 2021

Under 13 and 15

It was another busy week on the playing fields for our underage teams. Our u13 boys lost out by the narrowest of margins after another titanic Division 2 struggle with neighbours Shannon Gaels in Croghan on Monday evening. Wednesday saw our u15 boys host St Croan's in the second round of the Division Two Championship. Our boys took the spoils after a gripping contest on a 2-9 to 1-10 scoreline. On Thursday, our u15 boys were defeated away to Strokestown in Division 4 but can take encouragement from many impressive performances and passages of play on the day. The week ended with our u13s making the trip to Kiltoom on Sunday to face a strong St Brigid's side in Division 4. The boys gave it their all in the intense heat but again, as in all our games this week, victory went to the home side!

Next week, our u15 boys continue their Division 2 campaign with a trip to Castlerea on Tuesday evening, throwing in at 7.30pm, while our u13 boys host Michael Glaveys in the Division 2 championship at 7.30pm on Thursday in Ardcarne Park.

Junior Men

A very lively and competitive game in sweltering heat in Croghan ️. We trailed 3pts to 1pt at the first water break but turned it around to lead 1-5 v 1-4 at HT. Third quarter ebbed and flowed, we squandered a number of goal chances and trailed by 4pts at the water break, 2-5 v 2-9. We had most of the play in the last quarter but were caught out on the break late on. Final score: St Michael's 2-8  Shannon Gaels 4-9.
