TANSEY CUP FINAL
Congratulations to our men's panel
and management, sponsored by Joe Simon Home, Garden & Build, who won an
exciting Division 3 league final on Sunday in Ardcarne Park with a 3-9 to 2-8
victory over Strokestown. It was wonderful to see the large turnout of
supporters, young and old, from near and far, who joined in the celebrations.
Thanks to all our volunteers who helped in any way to make the day a great
success for the club.
UNDERAGE BOYS
Underage championship football
commenced last week with most of our boys teams in action. The under 16 boys
had a good win in their Division 2 game in Knockcroghery on Monday: St
Michael's-St Ronan's 3-18 St Dominic's 2-13. They play Kilglass Gaels-St
Barry's in Ardcarne Park on Monday 17th while the u16 Division 4 team play the
same opposition in Kilglass on Friday 21st, both at 7.30pm.
On Thursday the under 18 boys had to
settle for a draw in Ballyfarnon: St Michael's-St Ronan's 1-19 St
Faithleach's 4-10. The u14 Division 4 team gave a great display in Ballyfarnon
on Sunday morning: St Michael's-St Ronan's 6-7 Western Gaels 5-7.
The u14 Division 2 team play Western
Gaels in Frenchpark on Thursday 20th at 7.30pm while the Division 4 side play
Kilmore-Shannon Gaels in Kilmore on Sunday 23rd at 12.30pm.
Best of luck to all our teams and
their coaches.
Best of luck to our u16 Girls team
and management who kick off their championship campaign with a game v Oran on
Tuesday 18th at 7pm in Ardcarne Park.
Commiserations to Leah McCawley and
the Roscommon minor ladies and management on an agonising one point defeat in
the Connacht Final last Wednesday.
GAELIC FOR GIRLS - HAVE A BALL
We had another great session of
Gaelic For Girls at Ardcarne Park on Wednesday evening last. Many thanks to our
adult and teenage role models whose continued encouragement and example is
inspiring the young girls.
Gaelic For Girls will continue next
Wednesday 19th July, same time (6.30pm), same place.
DADS & LADS
Football for Dads & Lads made a
welcome return last week with a very enjoyable session. The purpose of the
initiative is to give people of all ages a chance to get out and enjoy playing
gaelic football in a non-competitive environment. We go again on Wednesday next
(19th) at 9pm in Ardcarne Park. A good time is guaranteed and everyone is
welcome!
ROSCOMMON SFC
Best of luck to our representatives
on the North Roscommon panel who play West Roscommon in the first round of the
Senior Football Championship on Saturday 22nd at 5pm in Strokestown.
