Update 13/8/17

It was a bad week on the playing field for our competing teams. The under 12 boys lost to St. Croan's in Enfield on Saturday by 2 points and on Sunday at Ardcarne Park our under 16 boys lost to Padraig Pearses. This match was followed by the last game in the division 3 league where our intermediate team lost to Kilglass Gaels by 3 points.

The under 12 boys play at home next Saturday against Castlerea St. Kevin's and on Sunday the under 16 boys travel to Castlerea. Next weekend sees the resumption of the Mulryan Construction Intermediate Football Championship with St. Michael's travelling to Kilbride on Sunday to play Kilbride at 2pm.

Congratulations to Diarmuid Regan and the county under 17 team and management on a great win over Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final which was played in Ennis on Saturday. They will now face Tyrone in the All-Ireland final in Croke Park on Sunday 27th August.

The under 14 girls were beaten by Castlerea in the C summer league final, our girls played a great game of football and were unlucky to lose out in the end. Thanks to the St. Ciaran's club for running the competition and our management team of Stephen Mc Guinness, Clare Noone and Joan Tiernan. The under 14  championship begins on the week of the 21st. Our minor game was postponed last week as St. Ciaran's were unable to field. They play St. Barry's in Tarmonbarry on Monday 21st.

Good luck to Roscommon ladies who play Sligo in  Carrick on Shannon in the  All Ireland quarter  final on Sunday 20th.

The Club Rossie draw takes place in Hannon's Hotel, Roscommon next Friday night. Thanks to all from the club who bought tickets and best of luck in the draw. Tickets are still available.

Good luck to all players who will receive their leaving cert results this week.

The club extends sympathy to Clive Gillespie and family, Ballyfermoyle on their recent bereavement.

All team managers and officers are asked to send any news items for inclusion in the club notes to the club PRO, Michael Regan by 10 pm each Sunday.
