Update 25/9/16

It was another hard luck story for our under 16 boys as they came out second best in the Division 4 final on Sunday at Orchard Park. Our lads worked hard to claw back from a seven point deficit to go a point up with 7 minutes remaining but two goals in quick succession against the run of play put an end to the St. Michaels challenge. Well done to all the players and the management team of Anthony, Michael, Peter and Niamh. Thanks to Daniel Griffin and Anthony Dowd for their sponsorship.

St. Michael's GAA Club celebrates it's 75 year anniversary next weekend, starting on Saturday night, 1st of October with a social night out starting with traditional music and the launch of a specially compiled book, ' St. Michael's GAA Club - A Glance at Our Past' at 9.30pm. This will be followed by music from The Looney Hoppers. All this takes place at Ardcarne Park Sports Complex, full bar and finger food, tickets are €10 each and available from all club officers. On Sunday there will be a Football Skills & Fun Day for our junior club members up to age 14 starting at 1.30pm. This will be followed by the official opening of the Clubs dressing rooms and the unveiling of a dedication plaque at 4.30pm. All are welcome to attend and we look forward to meeting members and families, past and present over the weekend.

Ardcarne basketball club are holding an important meeting for all parents of children who will be playing this year, in the Complex on Monday 26th September from 7 to 8pm. There are new regulations for the 2016/17 year to be discussed.

Pictures below are of the under 12s after they won the division 2 shield and of joint captains Colin Burke and Patrick Charles accepting the shield from James Duignan.
