Update 11/9/16

St. Michael's will live to fight another day at Intermediate level football thanks to a gutsy team performance against Clann na Gael at Ardcarne Park on Saturday evening. Final score was 2-12 to 1-10. Well done to the panel and the management team of Kevin O'Rourke, Eddie Heslin and Shane McGlynn. Thanks again to Joe Simon, the team sponsor. Thanks to the group of young musicians who played the national anthem, lotto ticket sellers, the traffic management and field stewards and to anyone else who helped host the game.

Our under 16 boys have reached the final of the division 4 championship and will face Kilglass/Barrys or Western Gaels.

The under 14 boys had a busy week on the playing field starting with a loss to St. Aidan's in Ballyforan but our lads bounced back from that defeat to beat St. Dominics in Knockcroghery on Thursday. That means they finish joint second in the division 2 championship and will now play Roscommon Gaels in the semi-final on Thursday.

The under 12's are also in a final. Next Saturday they will play St. Ciaran's in Castlerea in the division 2 Shield decider.

The under 14 girls were beaten by a stronger St. Croan's on Friday last.  Thanks to the panel of girls  Aoife Guckian, Tori Monahan,  Leanne Hennessy, Niamh Reynolds, Roisin  Henry, Emma Benson, Tara Earley, Edel Gallagher, Amy Gallagher, Amy Tiernan, Ailbhe Wrynn, Isobel Neary,  Aoibhinn O Dowd, Laura Martin, Katie Corcoran,  Aine Harte, Leah Lynch Dolan, Chloe Cooney,   Niamh Clancy, Saoirse Rowan, Cara  Monahan.  Management Kevin Guckian, Tommy Daly,  Joan Tiernan and Breda Martin.

The under 10 girls had an enjoyable match against St Ronans under 10 girls on Thursday last and the under 12 girls play Gortetteragh on Wednesday next in Gortletteragh.

Well done to Edel  Gallagher,  Amy Tiernan, Amy Gallagher, Leah Lynch Dolan and Aine Harte who represented Roscommon in the under 13 and under 15 connacht blitz in the centre of excellence.
