The St Michael's U12 Team were in action over the weekend, taking part in the Clonguish GAA Tournament on Saturday last, the 9th of November 2013 in Clonguish, Co Longford. They finished their season by defeated hosts Clonguish in the Shane Brennan Shield Final. Teams from Clonguish, Fenagh St. Caillin's, Annaduff, Drumard and Shannon Gael (Longford) took part in the Tournament. Once again a big thank you to Clonguish GAA Club on a well run Tournament, The Team Management wish to thank all the kids and especially their Parents for their support throughout the year. The Club also would like to thank the players, coaches and Parents for their effort in representing the club well during the year.
In the U11 Keenan Cup, St Michael's defeated Western Gaels on a scoreline of St Michael's 1-07 Western Gaels 0-02 in the Semi Final of the Competition in Ardcarne Park on Sunday last, the 9th of November 2013. They now have reached the Keenan Cup Final, where Boyle, Strokestown or Tulsk a wait. This will be play in two weeks times at the Abbey Park, Boyle.
The Lotto draw is in Beirnes of Battlebridge on Sunday next, the 17th of November 2013 for a Jackpot of € 8,400.00.
The St Michael's GAA Club 2013 Annual Monster Super Fuel Draw took place on Saturday night last, the 9th of November 2013 in the Beirne's of Battlebridge. The Draw which had Five Great Prizes to be won, total value estimated at €2,000.00. First Prize was a Large Tractor Trailer Load of Quality Firewood, Firewood donated by Joe Tansey of Greenbelt and that was won by Kathleen Mc Dermott, Knockvicar. Second Prize was 500 Liters of Home Heating Oil, sponsored by Stewarts Oil, Boyle and that was won by Clodage Mc Gee, Drumahair. Third Prize was 80 bales Peat Briquettes sponsored by Bord na Mona that was by Matt O Dowd, Tullyboy Farm, Croghan, Fourth Prize was 500kg of Coal, sponsored by Arigna Fuels, Arigna and that was won by Niall Mc Guinness, Derreenasoo, Drumboylan. Fifth Prize, was a Boiler Service, sponsored by Shane Malone, Ballyfermoyle and that was won by Katelynn Bruen, Keadue. The Tractor Trailer Load of Quality Firewood was prepared voluntarily by our members with equipment assistance from East Bros, Boyle. The Club would like to thank Brian Lee, coordinator, all sponsors of the draw, sellers of tickets and all those that bought tickets for the draw and making it a success once again and also thanks to the Beirne's of Battlebridge on the night. Thank you once again.
The Semi Finals of Scór na Óg will take place on the 29th and 30th of November 2013 in Elphlin Community and Sports Centre and St Mary Hall, Ballyleague. Anyone who wishes to enter in anyone of the events list below can contact any Club Officer. The events for participating in Scór na Óg are; figure dancing, set dancing, solo singing, instrumental music, ballad group and recitation. The Scór na Óg Table Quiz is fixed for Saturday, the 7th of December 2013. Venue to be confirmed.
The St Michael's GAA Club's AGM is fixed for Sunday, the 24th of November 2013 at Ardcarne Park Sports Complex.
Good luck to the members from the Club's catchment area, who are part of the Shannon Gaels Ladies Junior Football Team, who play in the All Ireland Junior A Ladies Championship Semi final against Na Gaeil from Co. Kerry on Sunday next, the 17th of November 2013 in Tralee, Co. Kerry.
