Our Junior ladies team
made history this weekend and played their first league game against Roscommon
Gaels in Kilronan Park. The girls put in an amazing and highly
entertaining performance going in at the break ahead, However Roscommon Gaels
rallied well in the second half. Our ladies held them at two points ahead right
to the end and were just pipped at the post to finish down by five. Well done
to both teams for turning up in miserable cold conditions and thank you to St
Ronan’s for the use of the pitch and the very welcome hot cup of tea afterward.
Congratulations to the management and the ladies involved, a fantastic team
performance that can only be built upon.
Under 16 combined St Michael’s-
St Ronan’s girls had their first outing against Michael Glavey’s away last Saturday,
the girls gave a spirited performance but were unlucky on the day.
Well done to our under 16 boys who showed great heart and character to secure a draw in Elphin this afternoon on a scoreline of St Michaels 4-6 to Elphin-Ballinameen 3-9. It was a full squad effort with everyone working very hard and contributing immensely. Also, thanks to all parents who braved the elements to support the lads. The next u16 game is fixed for 11am on Sunday next, 17th March in Frenchpark.
Congratulations to Glen Moore and James Doherty O Brien who were part of the Abbey Community College team which won the Connacht Schools Junior title last week.
