St Michaels managed
to finish out winners over Strokestown when they met in the Tansey Cup at
Ardcarne Park on Sunday. They play away to St. Brigid's on Friday evening.
The U. 14 girls had a
good start to their championship with 2 wins by beating both Ballinameen and St
Mary this week. They play St Faithleachs away on Sunday next.
The Minor girls play Shannon Gaels at home in a challenge game on Monday at 8pm.
Their Championship starts on 9th August.
The U. 12 girls played a challenge game against St Mary on Tuesday last.

Our under 16 boys
continued their winning start to the championship in Strokestown on Sunday with
an encouraging 3-12 to 8pts win over the home side. The sides shared 10 points
in the 1st quarter in exceedingly warm conditions. Then, a significant turning
point with the sides level, was an impressive diving save by goalkeeper Shane
Glynn, with the ball transferred swiftly to the other end resulting in a goal
for St Michael's. Our lads then seized the initiative with many fine scores to
lead 2-9 to 6pts at the break. The home side fought strongly in the 2nd half to
reduce the deficit but our defence was resolute and victory was secured.
Our under 14 boys
were understrength and suffered defeat in their clash with St Dominic's on
Tuesday last.
Congratulation to
clubman Niall Roche and his new wife Aoife Bohan on the occasion of their marriage
last weekend, everyone at St Michaels wishes them well for the future.
The Club Lotto
