Update 8/5/16

The club expresses it's gratitude to Joe Simon Hardware, Boyle for his sponsorship of the St. Michael's GAA club Intermediate team. Picture below shows the new set of jerseys being presented by Joe Simon to club chairperson Jenny Bruen. Also in the picture are treasurer Padraig Hunt, team selectors Shane Mc Glynn and Eddie Heslin, team captain Sean Mc Dermott and team members Brendan Simon and Micheál Bruen.

Both our under 12 teams recorded victories this week. The girls kicked off the week with a win over Kilglass Gaels at Ardcarne Park in their final match of the league. Our under 12 mixed team snatched a coveted away win from St. Faithleachs on Saturday at midday.

Unfortunately that was the end of our winning streak this week with our Joe Simon Hardware sponsored Intermediates losing out to St. Barry's in the first round of the championship at a sunny Ardcarne Park on Sunday. Thanks to the hard work of a number of people the home ground was looking great and proceedings started with the National Anthem performed by the Ardcarne Youth & Childrens choir. Well done and thanks to all who helped prepare the ground, the many stewards and especially the choir who added to the atmosphere.

Having got to the Division 4 league final our under 16 boys felt this was their year but alas St. Brigids had other ideas as they won out showing their strength throughout the pitch at Orchard Park, Elphin on Sunday. Well done to the lads and management and best of luck in the championship.

Training for under 12 girls is on Monday and Thursday at 7pm.

Under 14 girls training is on Monday at 7.30pm and they play Ballinderry away on Thursday at 7.30pm.

Best of luck to the Cootehall NS girls in this weeks Cuman na Bunscoil.

There was no winner of last weeks Club lotto jackpot. There were two match three winners. The next draw is in Clancys, Knockvicar next Sunday for a jackpot of €5,800 with Jenny Bruens team in charge. Sincere thanks to Henrys Bar, Tara Marina, Clancys Bar, The Bogside Inn and Beirnes of Battlebridge for lotto envelope sponsorship.
