Weekly Update

Again interests this week, turns to the Replay of the Semi Final of the Roscommon Intermediate Football Championship, where St Michael's play against St Dominic's at the New GAA Grounds, Strokestown on Saturday next, the 06th of October 2012 at 4.30pm. The Club would again ask all supporters to get behind the Team and travel to the New GAA Grounds, Strokestown on Saturday next for the 4.30pm throw in.
While last Sunday game ended in a draw at a windy and wet soaked Orchard Park, Elphlin. St Michael's started the game poorly and found themselves 1-01 down after ten minutes. Kevin Mc Dermott replaced James Reynold, who received a heavy knock and it was he who started St Michael's rolling with a point from play and this was followed with a point from Paul Simon. Kevin Mc Dermott then scored a great goal, which involved Seanie Mc Dermott and Paul Simon as half time approached. Half Time Score; St Michael's 1-02  St Dominic's 1-01. Niall Conlon added to the St Michael's lead with a point from play in the early stages of the second half and this was increased by a pointed free from Paul Simon and a point from play from Kevin Mc Dermott, to leave the scoreline reading St Michael's 1-05  St Dominic's 1-01. St Dominic's pointed a free and were then awarded a penalty, which was scored, and by the midway mark of the second half, all was level, St Michael's 1-05  St Dominic's 2-02. St Dominic's increased their lead by two points, but this was reduced to one point, with a converted free from Ronan Cox. With the game now in injury time, St Michael's were awarded a free, which was converted by Ronan Martin. The goalie kick out was greeted with the Referrees whistle. Final Score; St Michael's 1-07  St Dominic's 2-04.   
The St Michael's U11 Team play St Croan's in the Shane Beirne Shield Final on Thursday next, the 4th of October 2012 at Tulsk at 6.00pm. Please support the future stars of the Club. 
Training continues for Intermediate, Junior, U21, Minors, U14s and U12 Boys during the week. Training for U10s, U8s and U6s on Friday next, the 5th of October 2012 at 7.00pm.
The Lotto draw was held in Henry's Bar, Cootehall, on Sunday last, the 30th of September 2012, for a jackpot of €5,500.00. The numbers drawn were 1, 5, 10, 11. There was no winner, no match 3 winner, Three €35 winners; Ella & Aby Moran, Yonkers, New York,  Conor Malone, Frenchpark, Breege Whelan, Ballyduff, Co Waterford. The next draw is in Clancy's Bar, Cleen, Knockvicar on Sunday, the 14th of October 2012, for a jackpot of €5,600.00.
Congratulations to the members from the Club's catchment area, who were part of the Boyle Ladies Junior Football Team, who won the County Junior A Ladies Championship Final in the past few weeks.
Hard Luck to Fiachra Henry, who was part of the St Mary's U12 Hurling Team, who were defeated by Padraig Preases in the Roscommon U12 B Hurling Final in Athleague on Saturday last and to the members from the Club's catchment area, who were part of the Shannon Gael's Ladies U14 Football Team, who were defeated by Clann na nGael in the County Div One Ladies Championship Final in the past few weeks.  .
The Club extends its condolences to the family and relations of the late Hugh Steward, Boyle and Eugene Gillespie, Sligo.
St Michael's GAA Ladies Football Club are holding their annual clothes collection over the next following weeks. The Ladies Football Club are collecting clothes, curtains, bedding (NOT DUVETS & PILLOWS), towels, paired shoes & Trainers, handbags, belts, wellies.

On Friday next, the 5th of October 2012, St Michael's GAA Club will launched their annual Monster Fuel Draw, which took place at Ardcarne Park GAA Grounds, Cootehall. The Draw will have Great Prizes to be won. More details in the coming weeks. All are welcome to the launch.
