Weekly Update


Now in its fifth successive year St. Michael’s G.A.A. club have launched a "Super Fuel & Holiday Draw". This year, the club are delighted to announce even bigger and better prizes than ever before, with a week long luxury four berth Shannon Cruise by Carrick Craft forming an excellent first prize. Second prize is the bumper tractor-trailer load of firewood sponsored by Joe Tansey, Greenbelt. Third prize is one pallet (128 bales) of Bord na Mona peat briquettes sponsored by Hunters Coal, Sligo. Fourth prize is 500 litres of home heating oil sponsored by Stewarts Oil, Boyle. Fifth prize is a tractor-trailer load of turf sponsored byTony and Sinead Bambrick, Cootehall.  Sixth is 500 kgs. of Cosy Glow and Eco Bright coal, sponsored by Arigna Fuels. Seventh is a car trailer load of turf sponsored by Paul Wynne. Eighth is a boiler service sponsored by Shane Malone, (MBS) and ninth will be a one tonne bag of kindlers sponsored by Matthew Gargan Firewood, Ballinamore. The total value of the nine prizes  is almost €5000. Entry is from just €2 and the draw will take place on 12th Dec. next. Their colourful slogan says the draw "must be the best in the country". It is hard to argue with that.

Well done and hard luck to the U.14s who lost out to Tulsk in a hard fought Garda Cup semifinal on Saturday last. St. Michael's lead by 3 pts at half time and the game was in the balance right up to the end but a second half goal was the decisive score for Tulsk.  Thanks again to the players, management and parents for their effort throughout the year.  This panel have made huge strides this year, having reached the U.14 Div 3 League final and winning the Div 3 Championship.  

The Club wishes to thank Super Valu, Carrick on Shannon for the Juvenile Kit presented to the Club in this initiative sponsored by Super Valu.

Well done to Anna Corcoran and Fiachra Henry who qualified for the All Ireland Cross Country finals having come through the Connaught finals in Lough Key on Sunday last.

Mass will be celebrated for the deceased members of St. Michael's GAA Club in Crossna Church on Sunday next Nov. 15th at 10am.

The club wishes to extend its condolences to Fr. Brendan on his recent bereavement.

The lotto took place in Henry's on Sunday last, there was one match three winner Aidan & Chris Malone.  Next draw will be in Tara Marina on 22 November for a jackpot of E4,600 with Ann Cox's team in charge of ticket sales.
