Weekly Update

There was widespread shock and sadness in our Club on Sunday morning last, on hearing of the passing of eighteen year old Michael Fryer (RIP). Michael,was a well known lad locally and liked, by all ages and represented the Club at all levels of underage football down through the years. To his heartbroken parents, Mary and John, to his grandmother Mollie and to his family, relatives and friends, the Club expresses our condolences to you all at this difficult time. May Michael rest in peace.
 
The junior game against Kilmore set for the weekend was cancelled as a mark of respect.
 
The under 12 Girls suffered a heartbreaking defeat by Michael Glavey's on Monday last at Frenchpark in the U12 Div 3 Shield Final. St Michael's led for most of the game, but in the last quarter Michael Glavey's came strong to snatch victory. Final Score; St Michael's 1-04  Michael Glavey's 2-04.  The St Michael's panel was; Cara Clancy, Tori Monaghan, Sadie Farrell, Roisin Henry, Ciara Mc Hugh, Anna Corcoran, Clodagh Curry ( Capt), Laura Martin, Saoirse Rowan, Katie Corcoran, Aoife Guckian, Emer Gilboy, Alana Noone, Niamh Clancy, Grainne Beirne, Aida Coppeiters, Amy Tiernan, Aine Harte, Aoibheann O Dowd, Grace Corcoran, Cara Monaghan, Maeabh Duignan and Juliet Doyle. The management team was Angela Moran, Tommy Daly and Anthony Dowd. The team mascot on the day was Ellen Daly. The Club would like to thank players, parents, management and all involved. Also thanks to Aileen Daly for the work she put in during the competition. 
 
The under 14 boys defeated Michael Glavey's in the U14 Div 3 League on Friday last at Ardcarne Park on a scoreline of 6-04 to 2-10. They play St Barry's/Kilglass Gaels this week in Tarmonbarry.
 
In the under 12 Spring League, the green team were defeated by Castlerea St Kevin's on Monday at Ardcarne Park, but returned to winning ways by defeating Shannon Gaels on Wednesday in Croghan. The red team defeated Kilglass Gaels on Saturday at Ardcarne Park.
 
The third round of the U8 Go Games Blitz took place on Saturday last in the Abbey Park, Boyle. We played games against Western Gaels/Ballinameen, Eire Og and Boyle.
 
The Club Lotto draw will be held in the Bogside Inn, Derreenadooey on Sunday next, the 30th of June 2013 for a new Jackpot of € 7,400.00.
 
The Club are holding this years Cúl Camp on the weekend of Friday/Saturday, the 12th/13th of July at Ardcarne Park. The Cul Camp is for children aged from 6 years old to 14 years old. Costs are; for Club member is  €15 for the first child,  €10 for the second child and €50 for a family. Non-Club member is €20 for first child, €15 for second child and €50 for family. Congratulations to the Rocommmon Minor Team, who defeated Sligo on Sunday in the Connacht Football Minor Semi Final at Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada, Carrick on Shannon. They now play Galway or Mayo in the Connacht Minor Football Final.
 
The Club would like to extends its condolences to the Flynn Family, Erronagh on the death of the late Ann Flynn (RIP), England and also to the Crowley Family, Cloonfad on the death of the late Mary Wyse (RIP),Ferbane and on the death of the late Patsy Callan (RIP), Fourmilehouse.
