Club Notes 24/06/18

The annual St. Michael's GAA Golf Classic takes place on next weekend in Carrick on Shannon Golf Club on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 29/30 &1st July. The format is a 3-ball scramble with great prizes. Time sheet in operation and to book contact Seamus Sweeney 0868192524.

Our u12s had a great win in the Keenan Cup against Elphin Ballinameen last week. The team worked hard all through and won out on a scoreline of St Michaels 0-11 Elphin Ballinameen 0-7.
The Club held an Organ Donation Awareness Event on the eve of the Connacht Final last in the Bush Hotel. Thanks to the large crowd who turned out on the night and to all who gave donations in aid of the Irish Kidney Association and the Opt for Life foundation. A big thank you to the following: our guests on the night - Joe Brolly, Eamonn O Hara, Emlyn Mulligan, Donie Shine, MC John Lynch, business supporters of the event - Joe Dolan (Bush Hotel), Mick Foley (DPS Print), Roscommon Herald, Leitrim Observer, Roscommon People, and photographers Willie Donnellan and Mary Regan.

A huge thanks to all our underage players, their parents and our coaches, who turned out in large numbers for our Skills Day at sun-drenched Ardcarne Park on Saturday last. Our under 14 girls play Castlerea away on Tuesday evening at 7.30pm in the summer league.

Minor girls training commences tomorrow Monday 25th at 8.30pm. All minor and under 16 girls are asked to attend.


Congratulations to the Roscommon Intermediate Ladies Football Team who won the Connaught Final on Sunday and a special  mention to Sorcha Bruen who was part of the  Roscommon team.


Our senior mens team play Clan na nGael in Johnstown on Friday next at 8.30pm.

Club Notes 17/06/2018


Our Under 14 girls were beaten by a much stronger Four Roads team in the Div 4 league semi-final on Tuesday last.

Our Ladies minors training begins on Monday 25th. All Under 16 and Minors are invited. Hope to see you there.

The week belonged to our Under 12 girls who won the Div 3 B final on Saturday last by beating Strokestown on a scoreline of 7 to 1.

Club Notes 10/06/18


Junior League game vs Padraig Pearses at home next Friday evening.

Our U12s had a good win in the Keenan Cup on Tuesday last defeating Eire Og 0-18 to 0-10. They now play Elphin-Ballinameen at home on Wednesday @ 7pm.

Our U12 girls play Kilbride away on Monday at 7.15 in division 3 semi-final
They will be in an A or B final on Saturday 16th. Venue: Kiltoom. Time: TBC

Under 14 girls play Four Roads in the Division 4 league semi-final away on Tuesday at 7.30 

Well done to Barry Monaghan, Niall Mc Glynn and Ellen Daly who 
represented their schools last Wednesday evening in the county skills tests.

St Michaels are supporting Organ Donation, by organizing a Connacht Football Final Preview Evening with a number of prominent GAA Personalities from across the province. The event which aims to increase awareness of the importance of Organ Donation will be held in the Bush Hotel in Carrick on Shannon on Saturday June 16th at 8.30PM. Organ Donation ambassador Joe Brolly - Ex Derry All Ireland Winner and RTE Sunday Game Pundit will be in attendance. The panel will comprise of leading GAA Personalities - Eamon O’Hara (Sligo), Emlyn Mulligan (Leitrim) and Donie Shine (Roscommon). Local rivalry and good honest GAA Banter will be the theme for the night. 

St Michael’s Gaa Golf Classic takes place weekend of  29 & 30 July. Teams of 3.Timesheet in operation. To book contact Séamus Sweeney or any Club Officer.

The AGM of Ardcarne Park Development Committee takes place on Tuesday the 19th of June @ 9.00pm One of the main rolls of this committee is to oversee the maintenance & upkeep of our community centre at Ardcarne Pitch ...All welcome Thanks Eddie

Club Notes 03/06/2018

Our Senior’s next outing is on Friday evening at home at 8pm.

Under 14 girls had a great win over Kilglass on Wednesday last. They have reached a league semi-final, fixture to be confirmed.


The under 12 girls also had a good win over Four roads on Thursday last. They are due to play either Western Gaels or St Dominics in a quarter-final on Thursday next.
