Update 26/03/17

Lotto: Would you like a chance to win or share €8,000? Then make sure you enter our club lotto, next draw is on Sunday 2nd April. If you're not in it, you can't win it!

Scór: Well done to the St. Michael's quiz team who came second in the county Scór Sinsir final last Friday. The team was Conor Mc Loughlin, Kevin Guckian, Patricia Molloy and Barry Mc Gonigle. Representing her club and county, Aisling Clarke gave a great performance in the recitation at the Connacht Scór Sinsir final at the weekend but unfortunately the night belonged to the Leitrim contestant.  

Ladies football: Well done to our under 16 girls who had a convincing win over Michael Glavey's at Ardcarne Park on Sunday. They will play away next Sunday against Oran. Throw-in is at 4pm. The under 12 girls start their league campaign with a home game against Ballinameen next Sunday at 6pm.

Under 16: The under 16 boys have a league game against Castlerea this Thursday evening at Ardcarne Park.

Update 19/3/17


Junior: The junior team (pictured above) were beaten by St. Faithleach's in the division 5 league at Ardcarne Park on Friday last. Final score 2-07 to 1-04

Under 16: St Michaels u16 boys played their third game in the Division 2 league away to Oran on Sunday morning last. Despite the difficult conditions as a result of the heavy overnight rain,this was a good game of football, with our lads going in 5pts down at the break. On resumption of the second half, St Michaels scored 2 goals and were very unlucky with a number of other scoring chances. The home side remained ahead on the scoreboard, winning by 3pts in the end. Hard luck to the team and management after a great effort.

Under 16 Girls: The under 16 girls were in hard luck in Mulhern park on Sunday when they were beaten by . They play Michael Glaveys at home in round 4 on Sunday next at 4pm.

Under 13: The under 13  girls travelled to Kiltubrid on Wednesday evening where they had an enjoyable challenge match with the hosts. Thanks to all who travelled.

Scór: Good luck to Aisling Clarke who will represent County Roscommon in the Recitation in the connacht final of Scór Sinsir on 25th March in Tubbercurry.

Lotto: There was no jackpot winner of the club lotto which took place in Beirnes of Battlebridge at the weekend. Niall Daly and Molly Fryer came close by matching three numbers each. The jackpot is now €8,000 and the next draw will be on April 2nd.

Parade: Well done to those who represented the club in the St. Patrick's Day parade in Cootehall and Boyle. Pictures below:

Update 12/3/17

Intermediate: Our Intermediate team secured their first points in this years Tansey Cup when they beat St. Ronan's on Sunday at Ardcarne Park.

Junior: The junior team take to the field next Friday when they play St. Faithleach's in the division 5 league at 12 noon in Ardcarne Park. 

Under 16: Our under 16 boys played their second game in the league against Ballinameen/Elphin on Sunday. In what was a competitive and entertaining game, St. Michael's went in five points down at half time. However, the lads fought back brilliantly to go three points up but in the end it was a point in the last minute that clinched it for the visitors. Ballinameen/Elphin 2-09 St. Michael's 2-08. Their next game is away to Oran next Sunday with throw in at 11am.

Under 16 girls: Our under 16 girls were narrowly beaten by St. Ciaran's on Sunday at Kilronan Park. Next game is at home on St. Patrick's Day against Oran at 11am.

Scór: Congratulations to Aisling Clarke on coming first in the recitation at the Scór Sinsir county finals at the weekend. Best wishes go to Aisling for the Connacht final in Tubbercurry on March 25th.
Lotto: The next club lotto draw for a jackpot of €7,900 takes place on 19th March in Beirne's of Battlebridge with Frankie Mc Kiernan's team on duty.

Membership: Club membership for the year is due and the club are extending the special offer of one year's membership to the club lotto for €40 when purchased with your annual club registration fee at the registration evening on Wednesday 15th March from 8-9.00pm in the complex..

Sympathy: The club extends sympathy to the Daly family, Cootehall on their recent bereavement and also to the family and relations of the late Sheila Walsh (nee White), Cahir, Tipperary and formerly of Derreenine, Knockvicar.

Update 5/3/17

Congratulations: The pride of the club this week goes to Diarmuid Regan  who received his Ted Webb shield winners medal and Fr. Manning Cup winners medal from Liam Mc Hale and Kevin Mc Stay at the county board underage medal presentation in the Abbey hotel on Saturday night. The Ted Webb shield and Fr. Manning cup were won by Roscommon under 16s in 2016 under the management of Stephen Sheeran. Well done to all involved.

Membership: There will be a registration and membership evening at the Complex this  Friday 10th March from 6.30 to 8.00pm. Membership for 2017 is as follows: Family €70; Adult €50; Student €30. Annual lotto membership can be purchased at a reduced fee of €40 if bought on the night. All players from underage to senior must be paid up members before they can be allowed to play for the club.

Intermediate: St. Michael's play neighbours St. Ronan's in the second round of the Tansey Cup at Ardcarne Park next Sunday 12th March at 2.00pm.

Junior: The junior team play St. Faithleach's in the division 5 league at Ardcarne Park on St. Patrick's Day at 12pm.

Minor: Last Sunday's minor game against Michael Glavey's fell victim to the recent spate of bad weather and will be played at a later date.

Under 16: Our under 16 boys play Ballinameen/Elphin in the division 2 league next Sunday at Ardcarne Park at 11am.

Ladies GAA: Following the postponement of their first game the under 16 girls play St. Ciaran's next Sunday at Ardcarne Park at 4.30pm.

Lotto: There was no winner of the club lotto draw which was held on 5th March. Numbers drawn were 1,20, 23, 24. Winners of the envelope draw for €20 each were David Nugent, Rooskey, Jim Harte, Knockvicar, John Sharkey, Cootehall, Thomas Morahan, Cootehall and David Noone, Corrigeenroe. The jackpot is now €7,900 and the next  draw will be held on 19th March. Remember, you have to be in it to win it!

Schools: Well done to Roisin Henry who was part of the Carrick-on-Shannon Community School team which won the Connacht under 14 schools title on Tuesday.

Basketball:  Best of luck to Ardcarne under 11 mixed and under 13 boys basketball teams in the county finals next Saturday.

Sympathy: The club extends sympathy to the family of the late Mary Mc Quaid, Boyle. May she rest in peace.
